People Operations Associate
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-cycle Human Resources support across all aspects of our business. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing a great internal employee experience, and driving HR functional excellence
- Serve as a key point of contact for new joiners by answering pre-boarding queries, and updating employee records
- Administer and maintain the organization’s employee database on Zoho People, ensuring data integrity, timely updates, and system accuracy, while also serving as the system administrator and providing support for related queries and issues.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc HR reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support with third-party vendors, including HMOs, pension providers and other relevant institutions.
- Provide timely and professional responses to people-related inquiries from employees and team leads.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as needed, including performance reviews, policy updates, employee engagement, and compliance tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the broader HR function.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED
Must-Have Qualifications/Experience:
- Hands-on experience in generalist HR roles, supporting the full employee lifecycle
- Strong attention to detail, process orientation, and focus on scalability.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in English; comfortable handling internal queries and external stakeholders professionally.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and capable of learning HRIS platforms (e.g., Zoho People).
- Experience in basic data analysis and reporting.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in a rapidly evolving, growth-focused company.
Preferred Background:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in HR and must be a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management in Nigeria (ACIPM).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Strong time management, exceptional attention to detail, and organizational skills while managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information.
- Experience in basic data analytics
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
- Ability to build strong relationships with people across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Google Suite or related software.
- Ability to quickly learn our new HRIS.
- Ability to work under time constraints and to adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment.
